Some of my favorites from different genres.
Never too late to start sharing music. It’s summer and I’ve finally got the chance to sit down and take a listen to songs from last year. Following is the list of top 50 songs released between January and June in that I adored. There are some songs here that I wouldn’t think twice about deleting in the future while some that I would cherish and remember forever. Some so easy to listen to that I remember playing them everyday till I got so sick of hearing them.

The song is not perfect, to be honest, it’s a bit higher on this list than it should be but I’ve been completely enchanted by it. There were days when I kept it on replay countless of times. There’s just something about it, the instrumental that compliments the song well and the middle-eight is utterly amazing. It’s a catchy song that caught me at the right moment and has stayed with me since.

It’s hard finding someone with this much control over their emotional resonance. It’s a pure joy.

Many of the songs in Pinodyne’s sophomore album were hard to get into at first, but not this one. The rhythm and flow couldn’t be better and Ven, with his soothing vocals compliments the brilliant chorus to make this groovy rap song a must-listen. This is for anyone out there who has felt that no matter what they do, they can never bypass the insurmountable wall, their older sibling to carve their own unique identity. The lyrics are worth reading.

01. 하얀 (White) - 옥상달빛 (Dalmoon)
2013.04.22 / Indie Pop / Album: WhereIt’s so reassuring to see a duo not afraid of taking risks, Dalmoon ventured where they’ve never gone with this album and it paid off in countless different ways. The listener got a taste of many of their sentiments, mixed emotions of melancholia, triumph and utter bliss. A song like “하얀 (White)” doesn’t come around very often. The raw emotions bring out the best of their sounds and it feels throughout the song that we are venturing in a private part of their psyche. At the end, we come out knowing sadness and desolation like we’ve never known before yet there is also hope to keep us strong.
